I do hope that that crown-wearing person is not a king over any kind of cooked meat fast food chains…
No, it’s Midas, right? Only chocolatier.
Its actually a dying giraffe ;)
Ah CHOCOLATE touch?! Much better than the GOLDEN touch since I can actually eat! And then sell the chocolate for money! :D Gimme gimme gimme!
If it was a Chocolate Midas, his ropes would have turned into chocolate, and therefore, much easier to break, so that he can escape.
:) It is indeed Midas and, as my husband put it, if you had nothing to eat but chocolate for months, you’d be hating everything about it and your constitution and health would be so poor that you would not be able to break out of chocolate confines. We are going with the “whatever touches his skin” scenario. Yes, his crown, clothes, shoes, chair, and rope are all chocolate. In the last panel, when you see all of him, it might be hard to make out but his hands are bound around a gumball which was turned to chocolate by his touch. This just keeps his hands from catching anyone off-guard.
As for cultural diversity, King Midas is representin’ for the ancient Phrygians! Or perhaps the Macedonians. Depends on which legend you believe :) This guy was pretty well-known and not just for his golden touch. He had a hand in the future of Alexander the Great, sorta. He was famous for his garden of roses. He was kind to the lost tutor of Dionysus, Silenos, and upon his return, Dionysus granted him one wish. That wish was to turn anything he touched to gold. Of course, this came with problems. Namely, he could not eat or drink a thing before it turned to gold. In some versions, he accidentally turned his daughter to gold. He soon realized his wish was a curse. To end it, he was told to wash in the river Pactolus. He did and it became a rich source of gold for generations to come. He has other adventures after that. I wiki’ed him for some good info:)
OK, just as long as it is not a crown-wearing person that is a king over some kind of cooked meat fast food chain. That would truly be very scary.
Heh. I would agree. I don’t think we are going to go there. Ever. He’s too big to take on at their current level LOL. *shudder* Evil, evil man…
At least it’s not the Shel-SIlverstein-raspberry-jello touch….
