He said they were children of men’s making and are Want and Ignorance. I always liked their mention. Here is how they’re described: “They were a boy and girl. Yellow, meager, ragged, scowling, wolfish; but prostrate, too, in their humility. …. stale and shriveled… pinched and twisted…”. David recognizes them because he sees these as minor sins and he’s always on the lookout for those.
