Another little scene, as I didn’t want to leave the readers with nothing on Thursday:) My hand is healing. Just slow-going. At least they didn’t have to cut it open… Just have to keep taking these big stinky pills. Bleh!

And now that I get a stylus to save the day, my left thumb swells up all red and painful.
Darn it! I can’t do strips or journals for you at the moment but I did put together something different. The above is an excerpt from the book I am working on — 56SHARDS: WEB OF STORMS. This isn’t how it will look as a finished product but I wanted to give you all something to look at while you read and I hope you’ll like it.
The little shard Miss Muffet pic is art I did as sketches for the book in case someone wanted to see a few examples of minor illustrations. Basically, I am experimenting. Eh… It is painful to even type right now so I’ll stop.
Not sure if this is ever a possibility but I had been wanting to draw this all day. Here she is! Teen Miss Muffet! And friend! Clearly she is still learning to love herself but I think she’s getting there. Confidence, girl! You are beautiful!
Happy Valentine’s Day! Spread the love!
I wanted to do a nice New Year’s pic for you all and came up with an unusual one: A view from the distance of Oz, off to the left there, with some fireworks and confetti and a few hard-to-make-out skeiries riding some leaves on the breeze as they feather down to the grass.
I promised myself to do a decent bit of art for a Christmas gift to all of the SHARDS fans. This is the cover to Chapter 4.
For those worried Chapter 4 will turn into a lesbian love story, you worry too much!
For those hoping for a lesbian love story, I hope to give just enough.
I never have any agendas. I simply write, or put down on paper what the story would have me say. Though Goldie and Cindy do have a focus in Chapter 4, there is so much going on! Epic battles! EVERY main SHARDS character (except Dr. Muffet and Mother Goose — they had to stay behind at the Library)! Lots of characters reappearing! Opposing factions joining forces! This is the march on Oz and it is going to be epic. We should start into it some time soon into January or February. Chapter 4 will officially start then and that marks 56SHARDS going back to full comic strip format. No more journals (Darn!) so enjoy them while they wrap up the old year and kick Sieben’s butt/finish up the tale of “Mein Schnee”.
Happy Holidays, all!
Sorry for no journal strip today. Photoshop was freaking out, my computer was freaking out… Not a good day for tech to obey my keystrokes. A half hour ago I couldn’t even use my keyboard. Bleh.
Anyway, I was working on this when the programs froze up so I present the renamed 56 SHARDS adaptation I am hoping to publish and this is a proposed sketch of a cover. Not done yet but the ideas are there:) Sorry it isn’t finished. Dumb tech gets you hooked on using it and then it stalls or breaks. Bah!
For the holiday, I’ve put up art instead of the usual journals. Here is my initial sketch/design of a proposed cover (unfinished but still neat-looking) for the SHARDS novel I am working on. I present “56 SHARDS: The Flying Roman”.
Happy Independence Day!
This pic is brought to you by Alice, whose art skill is improving. I’m sure the inspiration behind this comes from wondering about the relationship between Goldie and Cindy.
Some of you may also be wondering about the relationship of Cindy and Goldie but I can only say at the moment that it isn’t quite what it appears. They are, as fictional characters, bound by the stories which they are entwined in. More of that will come up in Chapter 4.
We’ve made it 8 years with a lot of story and character development happening along the way, including Miss Muffet’s inner turmoil. Here’s a look inside of Miss Muffet. If you want to know what her “Monster” looks like to me, there you go! There’s just the vestigial parts of “Little Girl” in there with the feet and sort of the eyes… Naw, who’m I kidding? That thing’s creepy as heck! So… Sweet dreams!
On another note, if you count, there are eight legs showing, in honor of this 8th Anniversary. Because… math makes it less scary, right?
