toga!! toga!! toga!! i like her usual dress better though the jagged sleeves suit her.
alice cant change clothes right? im too lazy to back track the archive, but that suit keeps her from time stopping on us, so removal wouldn’t work.
sure the suit turns into other outfits but thats not the same.
Alice is currently unable to take off the suit. Doing so would trap her in time. The suit is powered by the temporal energy the watch exudes. As far as anyone has seen the suit only has dress and battle modes.
So before anyone asks, yes she can bathe/shower, by removing only parts of the suit and cleaning the skin underneath. Pain in the rear, but you gotta take what life deals ya :)
Ha ha, I did wonder about that actually.
in theory, could she also remove the wholes suit have someone else bathe her and redress her? or would the time stop effect the water attempting to clean her? just my own curiosity.
Interesting. I’ll just have to draw a special pic to demonstrate, huh? :)
Nothing can affect the immediate area surrounding a person “stopped” in time by the stopwatch. If you read the very beginning of Chapter 1: Wishful Thinking, you will see Muffet actually has to remove the ground Alice is touching in order to move her.
She’d still be affected. She still has to have the suit somewhere touching her, if I understand TB correctly. Look for a voting incentive soon to come, a sketch of how I think it’d go.
The wearing big sister’s dress” frame is cute. And yay, the new dress design finally hits the air. :D
Is this comic going into color ?
Also love the new Lil’ Muffet look. As Black is very sliming and trendy. :D
theres actually been quite a few pages with hints of color so far, usually small bits of the whole, used to show us when imagination might not be enough. seams to be their style so far. then again, blending to full color on the topic of gaining a new look makes sence too. kinda reminds me of how dave did it if so lol.
Glad you like the new look:) No, no color yet. Color in Shards is reserved for special events, generally. Color is important in the series to denote events and objects of import and though we’ve discussed it a bit, I haven’t gone color because I haven’t seen any other comic do this. Let me tell you, I take just as much time to shade in b&w as in color in my opinion but I’ve rarely done colored strips except for holiday special occasions. But who knows what the future holds:) I remember when my favorite comic went to color. It was easier to tell what was going on! But I use all the b&w issues as guidelines now to see how he shades what where. My style is different (computer gradient vs his pen and ink style). Also, if interested, a great b&w (technically sepia) comic is called The Abominable Charles Christopher, linked under our favorites:)
does that mean if we all magically spring up comics with the same coloring style shards will go full color? XD
Uh… No? Not the point.
Haha dont worry I was just teasin ya, I get what you mean ^.^
Ha hah. I meant the splashes of color were what set Shards apart. I was not implying that I don’t read color comics. I love color! But we’ll try and stress it through the characters. They don’t live in a black and white world but when color stands out to them, the best way to show it to the audience right now is to keep the strips black and white. Otherwise the characters may look surprised or startled for no reason, or I may have to take up space for dialogue I feel may be unnecessary, just to convey a surprise color appearance. For example, the first mission, at the portal Mother Goose opened, the aura of the text was brown as well as the view of the chocolate castle. I left them in color as well as the use of the portal because it was the first time the audience got to see Mother Goose open a portal to another story as well as the brown denoting that Hanstel would somehow be drawn to the story. They were, both by being food addicts as well as candy being linked to their particular Shards stories. Um, yeah. We put this much thought into all of it.
Ok, now that girl needs a bathing suit, Coppertone 45, and about 30 minutes a day outside playing. Which, of course, begs the question, can Muffet get a tan?
i now have this mental image of muffet trying to get into a 1 peice but having trouble with her spider legs getting caught up in it too and ending up a half dressed tangled up ball on the floor

What day of the week should the full comic come out on?
