So is the Fairy Godmother an ally to the herores or an acquaintance ? :(

She, like Mr. T-ore, aids Mother Goose. She is also Cindy’s mentor. What’s going on in the last 2 panels is a phenomenon mentioned in short previously, where an individual has more than one identity. This is represented visually when Cindy, Goldie, and Alice see the Fairy Godmother as a plump Red Hat lady and Velvy sees her as the Blue Fairy. She is in fact both people and appears to be one or the other, depending on who’s looking at her.

Was it the Blue Fairy who gave Velvy life? Or was it the shard in this version?

Or do I recall correctly that the shard intervened before the fairy could save him from the fire… ?_?

You are recalling correctly Dave. The Shard hit Velveteen before he could be saved :).
