“Three Heartstrings Of Gold” 45: David’s Journal, Pg. 11
They kinda have his back, too.
Story Note: In “A Christmas Carol”, there appears for a very short section two not-exactly-children when the Ghost of Christmas Present takes Scrooge around. He said they were children of men’s making and are Want and Ignorance. I always liked their mention. Here is how they’re described: “They were a boy and girl. Yellow, meager, ragged, scowling, wolfish; but prostrate, too, in their humility. …. stale and shriveled… pinched and twisted…”. David recognizes them because he sees these as minor sins and he’s always on the lookout for those.
Now THAT is what I call a TWIST. I mean even I never saw that coming as I seen various adaptations of the Christmas Carol story.
I mean WOW. That is a clever twist to the story and shows how far Geppetto has gone to change the story to his liking.
It also explains why Pinocchio is a real boy in this story and not proving himself as one in his own tale, right ?
Still what a twist and it makes me wonder whether or not Velvy would take up the offer and lose his Shard ?
This could be a great time for someone to tell Velvy NO as such temptation comes at a cost. :(
:) Glad you like it! Yep, Geppetto has done a lot of… retooling. When I was researching the story, I became very interested in Want and Ignorance as explained by the Ghost of Christmas Present. It probably shows here. And, yes, they really SHOULD tell Velvy that he should not say yes, shouldn’t they… ;)
