Hi, all:) Hope ya like today’s strip. Yes, it’s a prologue! All the characters have them but the rest are better told during the story. I know you probably can’t wait to find out what happened to Alice or to find out more about Miss Muffet, or both!, but it’s important to show you how Miss Muffet came to be.

Garet> Um, they were supposed to point out the oncoming shard but I fixed it and it should be a little more clear. I toned down the lines and made the shard a little bigger.

Not everyone’s shards are a blessing; in fact, some can be downright brutal.

Ewww, spider guts in her wound! XP I love Muffet’s expression as she’s eating her curds and whey. It’s like, “Ho hum. I could really go for a burger right now…” And the spider’s grin makes me laugh.

Isn’t this how Peter Parker became Spider Man- an accident with a spider?

It appears that these shards cause people to merge with other people or things… though the bit with Hanstel doesn’t fit that trend…

      Hi, and welcome!

On that, Miss Muffet was given spider legs by her dad. The shard did make her a paraplegic who thirsts for blood and is insanely quick but didn’t give her spider legs. The shards tend to adapt to whomever has them. The Candy Man/King Midas for example. By the time Miss Muffet got her leg implants, the shard had altered to suit, giving her the advanced speed of mind and the regeneration from sucking the blood of a living thing. The webbing attribute came with the acclimation of being around so many spidery things.:)
