Um, Dad, the big words aren’t helping. Give her a hug, ya douche!

Yeah, a real father would try to hug his little girl in order to comfort her. :(

I think he is focusing on encouraging and counseling her, seeing as she just admitted to deriving enjoyment from, well, killing things and drinking their blood.

Different people have different parenting styles. Cannot chastise him for that. He is doing the best in the situation that he is currently in. Nobody has had to deal with what these characters are in.

Also, that’s the kind of comment you’d expect from an extraordinarily talkative teenager with angst/pyro issues, not from a seven-year-old. Daddy’s trying to “grow-up-quick” his thinking, and some things just aren’t youger-kid compatable.

    That reads poorly… I hope it’s actually understandable… :/

This strip somewhat exposes one of the downsides of having a cast consisting mainly of insane children.
But at least they do have people trying to help them through having their lives shattered like a broken mirror.

Oh, and I’m in favour of both the words AND a hug :)
Because hugs fix everything. …Well, most things…They help anyway.

Hugs are essential, talking is also needed. Learning to like hurting only bad things is an advanced skill sometimes.

I agree with you all. She needs a hug. Buuuuuut… He’s not gonna give her one.
