ch.2, pg.69: “Looking Glass”
This was an idea I came up with a few weeks ago. Concluding Velvy’s conversation with the mirror, I wanted to end on something that shows more of the depth of the comic. I was trying to figure out how to draw a realistic velveteen rabbit for Velvy to get the “breaking the fourth wall” effect when I realized just a few hours ago I could take a picture of my ideal velveteen rabbit and photoshop it into a true “real” Velvy. Voila! To give credit where due:

The bubbles were downloadable and the velveteen rabbit was on at etsy store. I didn’t have time to contact the woman who makes the plushies for the use of the pic but I might just do that now, and to commission a Velvy! I believe her etsy name was Auntie Jill. Anyway, indiscriminate use of public pics aside, I hope you enjoy the strip! I only take credit for the photoshopping and the line art! Vector and digital graphics were unfortunately harmed in the making of this comic. Viewer discretion is advised.

You can be resistant if Velvy thinks you are a friend AND you have a shard.
The first seems pretty easy for us to achieve, but I’m still working on creating an artificial shard, or at least duplicating the apparent protective properties of shards.
Aww, nice way of breaking the 4th wall in this story, although I always thought that it was Miss. Muffet who would have done it by now.
Still, I do like it was Velvy who was the first of them to do it, as he deserves a shot like this to cheer him up.
So thank you creative team for this little treat. :D

Sorry I didn’t use your Velvy, Dave. Though we love the Velvy you made us, I wanted it to be very clear that I wasn’t changing his appearance any; just making him “real”. I got lucky finding the pic that I did and would have used your Velvy you made if I could not find a pic within 1 hour. I did use your shard though — the one you put on your Velvy you sent us:)

I don’t mind at all that you found your own Velvy. He SHOULD look the way you wish him to look. Besides, the Huggawalla I modified kind of looks like a pink puppy. Your choice is much more rabbit-y. Good call. :D
