ch.3, pg.1: “The Four Aces Of The Apocalypse”
The title says it all! This strip has a lot going on with just this little glimpse of the four main opposing factions. Yes, each of the leaders holds one of the four “Ace” shards. If you want to know which is which, it is on their character page. Let’s see if you can pick out the extra hints of what’s been happening in here;)
If you want to see a bigger version of the strip, there it be!
Discussion (17) ¬
I can see the Queen of Hearts, so does that mean Alice is going back to Wonderland in the future ?
And the three witches from Macbeth, does that mean some Shakespeare characters are coming into the story in the future ?
The other two I can’t tell. :(
Big bad wolf and King Arthur
Rei> Yes to both.
A link to the larger pic of the strip is located right below the strip in the Author’s Comment section.
Is that King Midas by the Queen of hearts? Plus Arthur’s knights vs yetis, and pixies vs fullmetal chocobo… o.0 (That’s not how you make pixie dust! You have to dry them first!)
I agree that the three witches put me in the mind of the Wyrd sisters from MacBeth, but A witch with an apple (Snow White) and one with a cookie (from Hanstel’s tale)… Not sure what the third is throwing in, so don’t know who she is… (is it hair?)
Nope. Not King Midas. Another King that you’ve seen early on in Chapter 1 ;) Good catching that, though! Second panel is indeed Arthur’s knights but those are not yeti. ROFL on the pixies vs fullmetal chocobo! Nope. Not a chocobo, nor is that a pixie. Guess again! The Triumvirate in the last panel is a really neat triad that you are very close on. What’s she throwing in? Straw, rust, and fur. I’m only saying that much because it is very hard to tell WHAT she could be tossing into the brew.
I’ll post a bigger pic of this later today.
I am guessing the triumverate is the Wicked With of the West, the Wicked Queen from Snow White, and the gingerbread man makes me think of the old lady who baked the storybook Gingerbread Man. Although Beedoo is probably closer.
Panel 3 is a Big Bad Cyborg Wolf?
Red Queen isn’t a big surprise, but that executioner stand with cat legs and a cat-tail noose? That is wild, I love it.
Good guess for the Triumvirate but I cannot reveal their identity yet. You may be right. You may be wrong. You may all be right… Moving on!
Yes on the Big Bad Wolf. I can’t wait to show him to you this chapter!!
As for the first panel, that strange creature is the Red Queen’s executioner, who you might like to know is NOT the Cheshire Cat. Just a little tidbit for those who read the comments ;) The Cheshire Cat has a very similar personality to the one portrayed in the book but looks entirely different than any version I’ve ever seen. It was interesting looking up the origins of the Cheshire Cat, which I did long after I came up with our version of him. I’m glad you like the Red Queen’s executioner, and hope you are pleased that it is not an evil Cheshire Cat.
Ahaha… I was going to use the Cheshire cat in my fan comic XD;; Oh well. They could be entirely different cats since there are many variations of the story. Or they could in fact be two totally different beings all together.
Ahh, Witch of the West.. I hadn’t considered her. And with JG’s hints, most likely.
is that the white rabit? o.o
Ha ha! Didn’t think of that. It is A rabbit but not him.
it did seam an implausibly early demise for him lol
(i sent you an email, might interest you)
also those are the monkies for WWotW right?
No they aren’t, they are from a story that has not been viewed yet :). I tossed them in on a whim.
Wow. Lots of violence going on in this strip. I like the blood effect you got in the first panel with the headless body and whatnot. Your grass effect in the second panel is cool, too. Me likey! =)
