ch.3, pg.122: “The Triumvirate: Secret Masterminds”
This is the official finished strip which introduces the Triumvirate. You may have noticed, especially on Wicked Witch, that they are a mish-mash of spliced appearances. They represent a variety of women who fill a particular niche of bad lady and I thought this was a neat way to represent that. Tomorrow you’ll see Witch #3: The Seductress/Evil Stepmother.

I’m very fascinated by the Wicked Witch’s half-hat. It’s like she raided Willy Wonka’s office.
I worry the day when our heroes face off against the Triumvirate as I think Gretel maybe a liability/problem in the fight given her appetite.

Marcus> You don’t know the half of it! And what of our resident princess, Cindy? Evil Stepmother knows her all-too-well. And of course Wicked Witch knows Dorothy and may be just a bit smarter than the one in the book/movie on how to deal that “little girl”.

It’s… oh, oh, what’s her name…. Goliath’s sorta-mate? The one with red hair.
The large nose on the cauldron witch reminds me of – if I have my mythology right – Baba Yaga that’s gone (fully or almost) blind and needs her nose and, I believe, her dogs to warn her when tasty children are afoot.
