First off: Thank you for returning to the Journals as it was always great to see how the characters feels about their teammates and themselves as they go into each of these adventures.
Secondly: Given she already has a sister of her own maybe Alice feels like an older sister to Miss Muffet and wants what is best for her and keep her safe from the manipulations of Goldilocks. She want to understand Miss Muffet, but it only if Miss Muffet lets her in, right ?
There were three sisters who lived at the bottom of a treacle well: Elsie, Lacie, and Tillie (According to the dormouse in Alice in Wonderland). Elsie is “L. C.” Lorina Charlotte (Alice’s older sister). Lacie is an anagram of Alice. Tillie is Edith (apparently also known as Matilda?) Alice’s younger sister.
I suppose ‘Lacie’ feels about Miss Muffet somewhat as she felt about ‘Tillie’ in real life.

And indeed again:)
