“Mein Schnee” 64: Hanstel’s Journal, Pg.12
Gretel shows us some new animal faces. And, if you missed it, over the weekend, I posted two new SHARD Dust comics:)

First off great start to the Shard Dust comic and nice idea having Velvety being the focus character for these comics. The Skeleton fairies are interesting and it shows how very little the team knows about their leader Mother Goose.
As for the Journal itself: I had trouble following Hansel given his intelligence dialectic ways of speaking, but overall I understood the point of the entry.
Given that she expresses herself through her pictures maybe Gretel should take over the next few entries once Hansel explains his plan.
Also once this adventure is over I do have one question: Any chance of showing the team going through Yoga and meditation in their downtime ?
I ask this question since I think that Yoga and Meditation can benefit Gretel and Miss Muffet and maybe Velveteen into controlling their unique power problems a bit. I mean they all could use a bit of practice on Self-control, right ?
Gretel would do so if Hansel did yoga. She doesn’t really need that training like he does and Miss Muffet and Goldie need it waaaay more.
Glad us like the Skeiries.
‘Beat me!’ says the masochist. The sadist replies ‘No.’
I don’t really know any other solution than the one I described before from ‘Princess Ida’, and that would take too long. (Not to mention that you need a whole staff of servants (minions?) to pull it off.)
In the mean time Goldie’s comment at the end is “right on” with or without the deleted expletive. (I don’t feel the deletions, or the ‘gold tape’ censoring are significant. I can see why you do them, but ‘kindergarten’ is probably too young to be interested in these posts, and when I was that age I already knew those words… and nobody (with the internet) has anything like the sheltered life I did at that age.)
Actually it’s an ‘amusing’ puzzle to figure out what’s behind the ‘gold tape’.
Annnnnnnd then I could say to Hansel “I know you don’t need it (a bit of flattery?) and Gretel seems so calm and well balanced that it’s hard to see how it could help her (of course you’re so smart you might prove me wrong), but she does have some control problems and maybe yoga could help her with that.”
He might do it to help her and (inadvertently) help himself. Well, it’s possible, if not likely.
Just an off-hand question, but how do you pronounce ‘Skeirie/Skeiry’? I can come up with plausible reasons for four pronunciations, all assuming the accent is on the first syllable. The vowel could be a short ‘e’ (like ‘scary’) (least likely?), a long ‘e’ (like ‘skeery’), a long ‘a’ (like ‘skay-ree’), or a long ‘i’ (like ‘sky-ree).
SKEH-ree ;) I’m a big fan of the “eh” sound when developing new languages and it shows with this particular home-made compounded and truncated noun.
And… It would take a lot more logic than I have to convince Hansel to do yoga…
The glitter tape satisfies two roles. First, I actually read my comic to my kids and let them read it themselves now that Dovahkiin is old enough. So, yeah, I screen the expletives out. I cannot assume my kids are the only kids to read this. Be thankful I don’t censor blood! Heh. But with this reason is the humorous in-story reason that Mother Goose is censoring Goldie’s journal and Mother Goose does not allow such overuse of colorful metaphors. Mother Goose is from an era of nursery rhymes and all that. The second reason? It pisses Goldie off to have “the Goose” alter her stuff, or even have access to her journal, so that might get you to wonder how DOES Mother Goose get hold of the journal and why can’t Goldie find a good hiding spot to keep her out of it…?
