I think Gretel in her own words/drawings is simply trying to say Hear no evil, see no evil and Speak no evil. At least one of the three.
Still I think now it maybe Hansel’s turn to have a moment of weakness over sin. Gretel maybe able to help in her own way, but even I have to ask: How long until Hansel refuses to listen to even his sister ?
This certainly seems to be a strange situation, so perhaps a strange explanation is in order. Rather than representing wrath or pride he is intended to inspire one of those emotions in our heroes. That would be interesting and curious. i am waiting to see what happens next.

So far, we have not seen any indication he would ever NOT listen to her, but there is always a first ;)
