I like Humpty’s art style:)

If you are curious about our particular portrayal of Shylock, here is our inspiration: After discussing “The Merchant Of Venice” with my friend, Heather, she mentioned that the play is not a tragedy but a comedy. Shylock was actually portrayed in a humorous way in all his deviousness, as Jews were viewed as such back in the day for this play, I’m given to understand. So, to honor the nature of the play, I have re-envisioned him as an iconically, comically drawn bad guy: a combo of Oil Can Harry/Snidely Whiplash/Dick Dastardly. Yup. Showin’ my age;) Look ’em up if ya don’t know the reference. Historical and hysterical. Enjoy!
