It may be that the hand looks the way it does when you’re looking at it, but it’s twisted a bit much and angled toward the audience/4th wall too much; rotated outward too much. (I’m sitting here trying to mirror the pose, and my arm just won’t go that way!) I’m with you though.. hand posiotioning is hard.
