Shards Alice is rather less… scatterbrained? than the original.
Or maybe it’s just that she’s not asleep.
I don’t actually know much of the story of Sweeney Todd, partly since I tend to dislike musicals and the most famous versions of his character seem to occur in musicals.
Although maybe now I’ll actually read The String of Pearls, even though it has always been pretty far down my (rather long) reading list…
About all I really know is that it involves murdered people baked in pies, and cross-dressing.
Alice, in the original version, seemed to me to be very rational and self-possessed, considering the situations she was put in. I’m really looking forward to seeing how she acts in this adventure.
I’m also testing an idea about a ‘Gravatar related’ issue. ;-}}
Haha, Humpty is the least stealthy of them all, but good point on Humpty. He will be kept busy trying to keep an even keel on those two and the rest of the plan.
So is this Alice first journal entry or the first of the New Year ?
Either way it’s a nice introduction to her character and the situation in her tale.
Mother goose had a point in reasoning that Alice was too personally involved with her tale to not go out on that mission.
Still I wonder who’s going with Alice on THIS mission ?
Plus I’m confused in understanding why Alice not being in the previous adventure was the reason it all went wrong so fast ?
1.) Yes. Yes, it is:) Happy New Year!
2.) Yes, Mother Goose did have a point. So did Alice. But MG trumps Alice (no, I don’t mean the President) :)
3.) You’ll see soon.
4.) Alice believes she could have done better.

Good link, but this is Shards, so there’s bound to be more to it on our end *wink*

Now I know why Humpty’s on the mission with Jack and Goldie. Someone has to keep the peace and remind those two of the mission.
Plus the three of them together seems more like a stealthy breakout team than the others.
