Changing one’s very nature IS a difficult feat. It’s the bonding that’s important and I’m glad you pointed out the futility. Velvy is what he is. And we love him that way:)
Geez, wouldn’t it be easier (and maybe *less* painful) to just toss him into a washing machine?!

Ahhh, good of you to point it out! She actually isn’t a germ-a-phobe. She just hates dirty things. It’s due mostly to her upbringing of servitude by her step-mother and step-sisters as well as some shard influence… and the fact that it is Velvy’s “ick” and disease that kills her friends. But, no, she doesn’t brush her teeth until they fall out or load up with so much perfume that she chokes a horse because she’s afraid of smelling bad. But get dirt on her when she’s not focused on a mission and she cleans like a mad thing… You know that lesser-known myth about leprechauns needing to clean any dirty shoes around them? It’s a lot like that. An impulse she finds very hard to resist.
I had some expectations about how this strip would play out, and they were surpassed by leaps and bounds. :D
My favorite part is how she apparently has a bottle of hand sanitizer the size of a PERSON…
