“Mein Schnee” 30: Alice’s Journal, Pg.7
Alice drew us another look at Zwei, adding the scratches Miss Muffet made on his face. Oh, and that’s Hansel looking angry up there.
11.14.17 UPDATE: I did the Tuesday journal but realized I was missing Miss Muffet’s perspective, which isn’t done yet, so Miss Muffet’s journal will be up later Tuesday evening and finally we will hear from Goldie on Thursday. THAT journal is done. Sorry for the delay!
Seems like Alice has the same thought as I do about Cinderella’s connection to Goldilocks and whether or not it’s beyond a simple friendship.
So….It seems like the team maybe able to punch up some NAZIS soon, right ?
I mean if these guys are following “the Nazi leader’s” way of looking at life due to the Shard messing things up for the story, so that technically means that the team is punching some Nazis, right ?
Now I’m getting a Golden Age superhero comics vibe for even think this.
Also Hansel should know by now…NEVER underestimate the bond that Alice and Miss Muffet have. As it seems that Miss Muffet can do the impossible if it pleases Alice and Alice can get Miss Muffet distracted and focus on something instead of falling for her “Spider” instincts.
I see Alice and Miss Muffet’s Relationship almost similar to Hansel and Gretel’s relationship with each other: A sibling bond that is stronger when they’re together.
you had me LOL, Marcus:) But I will leave superheroes with punching skills to the Golden Age and also to One Punch Man. 56shards can neither condone nor bash any such mentioned punching of Nazis. We are a family friendly comic after all >;P *goes to read a Golden Age where they did just that. Ahh…*
And for those not in the know, Mein Kampf was written by Adolf Hitler and entails explaining why he feels Jews need to be eradicated. Although interesting from an historic or psychoanalytical perspective, I will quote the Heroes and say, “Creepy!” And yes, those are as Hansel says, direct quotes, slightly altered for the story.
I read it twice; an abridged version when I was 13, and the newer Ralph Manheim edition a few years ago. Yes, I’ll grant that it’s creepy in a few parts; but I mostly found it a barely-coherent slog of a rant. Believe me, there are probably plenty of better books *about* Mein Kampf to read than Mein Kampf itself.
It looks like that didn’t work, sorry if this shows up twice:
OK, I think I’ve got one piece of this figured out.
When Cindy’s wedding ring from the prince get’s near Goldie’s heart it lights up (it and the shard are both on Cindy’s necklace). They also light up, even more, near Goldie’s head. (The heart is the symbolic seat of emotions and the head is where they are actually processed, felt, etc.)
If you could ask Goldie about true love or romantic love, I think she would say both are just physical attraction. And as for friendship, it exists as long as two people’s goals are the same, but not so much when they don’t agree about something. So she doesn’t think love really exists and is very dubious about friendship, beyond something like ‘neither of us can fight the dragon alone, so lets team up. After it’s dead we can decide how to split up the loot.’
But… what she really wants (not admitting it even to herself) is a real friend. Like, maybe, Cindy? So she can take off the coat when Cindy asks her to, because Cindy’s friendship is something she wants more than the coat. Now do either of them want more than a platonic friendship? We don’t know yet. I should also point out that while we have some very definite lines drawn between different types of love and friendship, those lines can be drawn differently in other cultures or at other times. They may be in different places, or much less distinct, or not be there at all. All you can say for sure is that there will be a place for “those activities” which create the next generation.
Wow, dude, that is an epic explanation! I cannot confirm nor deny your analysis as 100% dead-on but you offer a very valid explanation none-the-less. I shall also point to this prior strip for an additional hint, however the real answer cannot be revealed until chapter 4, the title of which is “Black and White”, for many reasons. Heh. If you click to the next and go to Ch.3, Pg.130, you see Goldie even blush a little.
I had forgotten that sequence. At the time I guessed that although (almost?) any of them could use that shard there was some arcane/esoteric/whatever reason that it should be Cindy’s, and we would find out why eVENtually. (I have to write it like that. It’s the trademark of a little known Super-Hero, the Procrastinator.) I would never have guessed, though, that it was because Goldie _wanted_ to give it to Cindy. That doesn’t mean there won’t be other reasons that Cindy should have this shard. In stories like this things like that sometimes happen. You know it happens, and in this case that knowledge is, I’m sure, quite specific. {can’t wait… can I hold my breath until Tuesday?}
{{whoosh} nope}
You… need to hold your breath for a few months. By next I mean the next story. They are only on the second of 7 dwarfs and it’s gonna get ugly before they see the light of day agsin.
Oh, forgot to reply but, yes, Goldie didn’t have to give Cindy the shard. She WANTED to. Spot on, Stonefoot.
Heh, it is the WHY that will be revealed next chapter.
And ‘oops’ on “get’s” for “gets”.
